AQUA

AQUA Aquarium and Zoo

AQUA

Denmark's Nature Experience Center

First, four good tips for when you visit AQUA.

  1. Come a day when it is warm.
  2. Bring a change of clothes for the kids (and the adults), regardless of age.
  3. Bring food and drink.
  4. Make sure you have plenty of time to visit AQUA.

It is probably time to explain the background for the above good advice. Let's start with the boring fact, but it definitely shouldn't scare you away from visiting AQUA. Food and drink are really expensive. Not at all interesting. So grab the lunchbox and enjoy how much money you save every time you pull out a bottle of water or juice from the bag for the children. And then to the positive fact. AQUA has a great water playground where kids can spend hours playing around, if the weather permits. The water guns are a huge hit with the older children, while the little ones enjoy pouring water into buckets. There are hours of water fun complemented by a bounce house, a zip line, and a very ordinary playground. Our kids are not to be pulled away from AQUA, whether they are in nursery, kindergarten, or are older school children.

But AQUA is also much more than a fun water playground. It is a completely fantastic place to experience animals that live in the Danish nature. The otters and beavers are probably the park's favorites. You can look at that for a long time. There are both animals outside and inside. And then you can see lots of freshwater fish inside the aquarium. You can even get permission to touch some of them. There is also an exhibition about life in the Gudenå River.

But I come when the weather is good. Most of the park's experiences are outdoors. It's outside in the zoo that you can see wild boars (wild boar piglets are some of the cutest!!!), raccoons, badgers, and beavers. The indoor aquarium is not so big. If you're just coming to experience an aquarium, consider one of Denmark's other aquariums.
