Victoria Street Station

Victoria Street Station is a fascinating stop on the Lemvig Line (formerly known as the Vemb–Lemvig–Thyborøn Railway). The line stretches from Vemb to Thyborøn and runs through West Jutland, close to the coast and summer house areas.

The station is not large – in fact, just one platform and a small waiting house – but it is full of charm and history.

A name with character

Originally, the place was called "Vejlby Stop." But in 1991, the name was officially changed to Victoria Street Station – a playful naming initiative by residents when the station sign disappeared, and they chose to put up a new one with the English name as a humorous nod to both the local street (Viktoriavej) and the international flair.

The name makes the station unique – few places have such a small stop with such a big name. This visit makes it a little special and cozy at the same time.

Placement and experience opportunities

The station is located close to the summer house area in Vejlby KlitThe area where many visitors use the train to get to the beach, the dunes, and the fresh west wind.

Victoria Street Station makes it an interesting traffic hub – not for the hustle and bustle, but for the tranquility and nature. You can hop off here and continue on foot to the coast, or take the train further to, for example, Lemvig or Thyborøn.

Tips for the visit

  • The stations have limited infrastructure - There is no shop or large waiting room, so do not go in vain if you expect larger facilities.

  • Tog line 93 stops here – check the timetable well before departure. Moovit+1

  • Since the area is close to a summer house and the beach, it is ideal to combine a train stop at Victoria Street Station with a walk or bike ride in the area along the coast or the dunes.

  • Remember that the station might be more for "quick stops" than long stays – so bring both your camera and walking shoes if you want to explore the surroundings.

Why stop here?

  • It is a Charming and lesser-known station with a bit of local history's charm.
