The Greenhouses and the Botanical Garden
See a coconut palm, a cactus, and a giant water lily in the heart of Aarhus.
The Botanical Garden is one of the nearby green oases in Aarhus. The Botanical Garden is especially known for its greenhouses, including the palm house, where you can see plants from several continents of the world. In the troop house, there is a tall tower you can climb to experience all the tropical plants from above. Visit the Greenhouses and the Tropic House, where signs will make you more knowledgeable about the origin and growth conditions of the plants. And the experience is even completely free.
The greenhouse includes a journey through four climate zones.
You start in Mediterranean House With its colors and scents, then the trip goes to The Desert House with cacti. The journey continues to Mountain Forest House With plants from tropical mountains. And finally, you will get a lush rainforest experience in The Animal House.
The greenhouse cafe is often crowded, which is probably the best recommendation one can give. The menu naturally includes a number of plants that you also find in the greenhouses.
